Canada Summer Jobs: employer applications due March 11
February 26th, 2016 - 3:01pm
New Democrat MP Tracey Ramsey (Essex) is reminding local employers that the application period for the Canada Summer Jobs program has been extended until March 11, 2016.
Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to help not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees create summer job opportunities for students aged 15 to 30.
“The Canada Summer Jobs program is a great initiative that helps young Canadians find summer work while supporting local businesses and organizations,” said Ramsey. “I encourage Essex employers to take advantage of this funding opportunity.”
Not-for-profit employers are eligible to receive up to 100% of the provincial minimum hourly wage and mandatory employment-related costs. Public-sector employers and small businesses can receive up to 50% of the provincial minimum hourly wage. Additional details are available on the Service Canada website.
