Disability Tax Credit Seminar

Learn more about this important tax credit and how it can help you and your family.

Saturday April 23rd, 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Essex Centre Sports Complex, Shaheen Community Room
60 Fairview Avenue West
Essex, Ontario N8M1A8

This seminar, co-hosted by my colleague and long-time MP, Peter Julian, will present information on accessing the Disability Tax Credit (DTC).

The DTC helps persons with disabilities or their supporting persons reduce the amount of income tax they may have to pay. It provides for greater tax equity by allowing some relief for disability costs, since these are unavoidable additional expenses that other taxpayers don’t have to face.

My office wants to make sure that every eligible resident knows how to access this important tax credit, which can amount to up to $1380 per year and can be claimed retroactively for up to 10 years.

While the Income Tax Act stipulates that this is a non-refundable tax credit, it is transferable to spouses and other family members if the income of the relative, with a disability or infirmity, is too low.

To RSVP or if you cannot attend but have questions about the DTC, please contact my constituency office.

Hope to see you there!
