MP TRACEY RAMSEY CONCLUDES MEETINGS IN WASHINGTON AHEAD OF USMCA SIGNING

Member of Parliament for Essex and the NDP International Trade Critic Tracey Ramsey travelled to Washington this week with the Canada-US Parliamentary Group. As part of her work with this group, Ramsey met with 16 American Senators and Congressional Representatives to address key issues such as the Section 232 Aluminum and Steel Tariffs, and the future of the USMCA.

“It’s a critical time to visit Washington to discuss the devastating impact of the Steel & Aluminum tariffs on our region of Windsor-Essex with incoming congressional members.  There is unanimous support to remove the tariffs but there is still not a clear path on how or when. Our meetings are happening at an important time as we are only days away from the signing of the USMCA trade deal,” said Ramsey.
