MP TRACEY RAMSEY WELCOMES $700,000 IN CANADA SUMMER JOBS FUNDING

ESSEX – The federal riding of Essex is receiving $696,468 in Canada Summer Jobs funding in 2017/2018, up more than $18,000 from last year. The funding will support 225 local jobs for post-secondary students between the ages of 15 and 30.

“A summer job is an important way for young people to learn new skills and get valuable work experience for their resumes,” said Tracey Ramsey, Member of Parliament for Essex. “I’m excited to see these funds support a broad range of small businesses, not-for-profits and public sector employers across Essex County.”

Canada Summer Jobs 2017/2018 is funding a total of 69,089 employment hours at over 50 organizations across the riding, including Community Living Essex County, the Amherstberg Freedom Museum and the Kingsville-Gosfield Heritage Society.
